blissful seven 「ハッピーセブン」

皆さんこんいちは!

This is the LAUGH MASTER POST and every post related to the theme "LAUGH AND TAKE RISK" can be found here.

[page description]

A lot of things are associated with the number

[RELIGION] 7 deadly sins, 7 heavenly virtues, 7 contrary virtues, 7 corporal works of mercy, 7 sacraments, 7 I am's, 7 stations of the cross, 7 articles of faith, 7 chakra, 7 reincarnations,

[NATURE] 7 days in a week, 7 phases of the moon, 7 musical notes, 7 colors of the rainbow, 7 seas, 7 wonders of the world, 7 continents

[INDUSTRY] 777 (entertainment), 7eleven (convenience store), 7up (soda), mild Seven (cigarette), windows 7 (os), 7 samurai (arts and literature)

It is no twist of fate that those aforementioned were related to the number seven, I know everything was well thought out. You see, I do not believe in coincidence because there are reasons behind every phenomenon, although there are instances (like this for example) that the rationale can be incomprehensible.

This number is considered to be lucky/holy in Japan and is evident in their culture and traditions: 7 principles of bushido, celebrating a baby's birth after 7 days, mourning over death after 7 days and again after 7 weeks, eating rice porridge with 7 herbs every 7th of January, tanabata festival every 7th day of the 7th month, shichitenhakki (fall down 7, get up 8), and shichifukujin (seven lucky gods) to mention a few. Further readings HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

One of the 7 lucky kamis is Hotei, God of contentment and happiness, also known as the laughing Buddha. Based on legends, he likes to laugh randomly with no specific reason and does it anywhere with no care until everybody around him will start laughing too. Related readings can be found HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE (must read).

A simple smile can foster a beautiful aura, what more if that smile turns into laughter? Life may be harsh some times but we should not let sorrow and sadness engulf us because life is still amazing despite all these negative things. We have the power to change our attitude towards these pessimistic events and just laugh at it! Much time is wasted when used in sulking and it would even affect everyone that surrounds us. These may sound cliched and overrated but when all is said and done, laughter is still the best free medicine. So make laughing a habit and do it just like Hotei, laugh from the bottom of our hearts, laugh with no restrictions!

Listed in this post are also the things I want to accomplish before my time comes but on the lighter note which means some random hilarious tasks to spice up my journey and to LAUGH WITH NO RESTRICTIONS! So, in connection with my ‘LIVE AND DREAM BIG’ master post, I’ll be noting every accomplished task in each paper crane then assemble them into seven pieces per string. So yeah, that’s it. . .
